ABOUT US
The Hispanic Alliance for Education (HAE) is a non- profit organization that was founded in 1996 under the name Hispanic Employees Association of Montgomery County Public Schools (HAEMCPS). The organization consists of Hispanic employees of Montgomery County Public Schools and numerous Montgomery County citizens who are invested in supporting MCPS high school students of Hispanic descent support in their quest to obtain a college degree. Since its inception the organization has had as one of its goals to recognize and award the accomplishments of Distinguished Hispanic Scholars who graduate from Montgomery County Public Schools. From 1998 to 2016 the organization has awarded over $90,000 in scholarships to Distinguished Hispanic Scholars who have excelled in community service, leadership, and academic achievement.

The vision of the Hispanic Alliance for Education is to support the Hispanic Scholars of Montgomery County Public Schools by providing scholarships to assist with their college education. The mission of the organization is to organize fundraising events to award scholarships to Distinguished Hispanic Scholars of Montgomery County Public Schools, who are recognized for their leadership, community service, and academic excellence.
The Hispanic Alliance for Education works not only to provide students with scholarships, but also to provide Hispanic Scholars opportunities for internships and future employment opportunities as students work toward beginning their college careers. The Hispanic Alliance for Education proudly partners with the Hispanic Business Foundation of Maryland to make internships with local businesses possible for Hispanic Scholars of MCPS.

With your support and donation, we will pursue our goal of recognizing the Distinguished Hispanic Scholars of MCPS. All donations collected go toward the scholarships. The Hispanic Alliance for Education is a non-profit organization whose members volunteer their time to support its goals and programs.
